LOGENE FOSTER

The Foster Law Firm was started by Logene in 1966 as the Law Office of Logene Foster. Agnes Foster, his wife managed the office. He was the first Attorney to have an office in Sugar Land, Texas.

Later, Logene joined with Ron Pope and Mike Orsak and became Foster, Pope and Orsak. The three were well known in Sugar Land and handled a wide range of cases from personal injury to family law to criminal cases. They were later joined by Danny Hoke. Ron and Mike left in 1993 to go on and have successful private practices. Ron went on to be judge for the 328th district court for many years. Mike continued to have a very successful private practice.

The Firm became Foster and Hoke until Logene’s son Lynn Foster joined in 1996 and it became Foster Hoke and Foster. Danny later left to start his own successful private practice. Logene was significant in shaping many of these lawyers into the attorney’s they became.

In 1998 the Foster Law Firm was established. Shortly after this he brought in his son Lonnie Foster to join him and Lynn. The three worked together to help many people in Fort Bend and surrounding Counties. They had the joy of working together for over 20 years before Logene retired.

Logene was an even better Husband and Father than a Lawyer. He and Agnes were married for 62 years. He had three sons Larry, Lonnie and Lynn. He had 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was always devoted to spending time with his wife and kids. He would work nights and weekends if needed to make time for his family. He coached many of the kids teams and was always there for their events. He would make the grandkids events as much as he could, he loved to watch them do their sports and events. The family loved to spend time on the water and would go fishing and skiing often. He would take his family to lake Somerville for weekends and sometimes a whole week to stay in tents and just enjoy life. He later fell in love with horses and the family would go through this adventure together. His son Larry trained his race horses and took care of the ranch for many years.

Logene was well respected by the Fort Bend District Attorney’s Office, who use to keep a score board on cases they won against Logene. He was very respected by many attorneys and police officers that he would go against in court. He was known for being very good and very tough in court but was always kind outside of the courtroom. He was very close friends with many district attorney’s, many attorneys he tried cases against, police officers and many judges.

Logene always worked hard and studied all the changes that occur in the law. He passed on his knowledge and demeanor to Lynn and Lonnie who were blessed to practice with him so long.

Logene’s retirement and later passing in 2024 has left a whole in the Fort Bend County legal community. He had a big impact on many things in court system and in the community in Sugar Land and Fort Bend county. However it left and even bigger whole in his family as he was always about family even though he had a very busy practice.
